What to know before you take it
Angelfish are tall fish, so tank depth matters more than length. A tank lower than roughly 45–50 cm is cramped for adults.
They are mostly peaceful, but a grown angelfish may eat very small fish (such as small tetras). Also avoid fin-nippers such as tiger barbs.
A pair can become territorial around spawning, so plan hiding places and plants.
